The workings of Canada immigration pathways are interesting to learn about as they offer so many opportunities to people with varied skillsets in different sectors. Canada has 2 different broad ways of welcoming immigrants into the country. If you are interested to arrive in Canada, you could either do so by participating in a federal immigration draw or a provincial draw to become a Canada PR.

Now, getting chosen to immigrate to Canada at a provincial level is a very popular option among potential international immigrants. The labor market of each province will have requirements for skilled workers from time to time in different occupational areas. Provinces find your profile from the Express Entry pool and the employers in each province will nominate you if you are qualified and skilled enough and are interested to work in Canada in the province.

Provincial immigration being so desirable a pathway could motivate you to know which of those Canadian provinces are the easiest to immigrate to. If you are interested to learn which provinces are the easiest to immigrate to, here we have our suggestions for you.

Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan province nominates candidates via SINP to Canada to apply for a Canada PR visa. This is done under the categories of:

  • International Skilled Worker stream
  • Business Immigration
  • Saskatchewan Experience

The international Skilled Worker stream is particularly one that gives more of an advantage for immigration candidates. The International Skilled Worker category has sub-categories for:

  • Occupation in-demand
  • Saskatchewan Express Entry
  • Employment offer

These sub-categories, especially the Occupation in-demand, gives great opportunities to skilled international workers to join the labor force in the province. The province recruits them to such occupations in which more manpower is required to meet the demands of the province’s labor market.

British Columbia

The British Columbia PNP invites skilled workers to the province to apply for PR. The province is especially suitable and welcoming of technologically skilled candidates as those working in the IT sector. The BC Tech Pilot is a pathway famed for letting skilled and experience tech workers work in Canada.

If you are willing to take the BC route, you must first apply for a nomination to the BC provincial government. Then after being nominated, you must apply for PR to the Canadian federal government.

The 3 major categories that have streams to draw in immigrants to the province are:

  • Express Entry BC
  • Skilled Immigration
  • Entrepreneur Immigration

The Skilled Immigration category is a very popular category that gives skilled and semi-skilled workers who are suitable to work in high-demand jobs in BC.

The International Post Graduate stream is a pathway for international students who can arrive in the province willing to study in Canada. After graduation, one can move on to get Canada PR. Applicants aren’t expected to have any job offer to apply for.

Nova Scotia

Another province that gives easy access to you as an immigrant is Nova Scotia PNP. The province aims at letting immigrants in to boost the province’s economy and meet the demographic challenges.

Among the many streams the province has, the International Graduate Entrepreneur is a very attractive stream that offers an easy pathway to international students. The stream works on an EOI format. These international students can, after completing graduation, purchase or start a business in the province and operate it for a year on PGWP.

Alberta

One of the fastest-growing provinces of Canada, Alberta has 2 of Canada’s major urban centers namely Edmonton and Calgary. This province takes in skilled immigration candidates under the Express Entry and Alberta Opportunity streams. For businessmen, it has the International Graduate Entrepreneur and Self-Employed Farmer streams.

Besides these, the province also has the Foreign Graduate Start-up Visa stream all set to be launched in January 2021.

The province’s International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration stream is one of the most popular and easy pathways for immigration to the province.

Ontario PNP

The most populous province in Canada, Ontario has Canada’s largest city. The largest part of the province’s economy works in the service sector. This sector includes occupations in technical, professional, financial, cultural, business, and arts areas.

Including opportunities for French-speaking skilled candidates, skilled workers, skilled traders, international students, and international workers for in-demand jobs, many have opportunities in immigration categories. These categories include:

  • Human Capital
  • Business
  • Employer Job Offer

The province accepts EOIs only and applicants cannot apply directly for nomination. Candidates aren’t required to have a valid Express Entry profile and hence needn’t meet the federal draw requirements.
