When can you apply for the Ireland student visa?

  • Individuals who wish to take up a course for more than three months in Ireland can apply for a student visa.
  • The candidates must comply with the policy requirements on Non-EEA Nationals before applying for visa applications.
  • The student visa can be applied before 3 months prior to your plans to travel to the country.

How to apply for an Ireland student visa?

You can apply for an Irish visa online.

Step 1: Complete the application process online, after which an application form will be created.

Step 2: The application form will have a list of instructions, including information about the documentation and how to submit your documents.

Step 3: The application form must be printed, signed, and dated, which should then be submitted with the additional documents.

Student visa fees & processing time

The visa fees can be considered administrative fees that cover the application processing cost.

*Note: Once paid, the fee cannot be refunded if your application is rejected or refused. 

There may be additional charges that could be taxed while submitting your documents. The respective consulates will have the information related to the additional costs.

  • Single entry – €60
  • Multi entry –€100
  • Transit - €25

The visa processing time –

The processing time differs based on the countries, embassies, and consulates, but it usually takes eight weeks to submit your application.

The processing time tends to get delayed if –

  • The submitted documents need to be corrected or completed.
  • If the supporting documents require verification.
  • Suppose the case involves any further investigation, e.g., Criminal offenses or convictions.
