Saskatchewan held its latest PNP immigration draw on February 11, 2021, in which 541 new immigration candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR.

SINP invited candidates via the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories. 344 candidates of those invited came from the Express Entry category and 197 came from the Occupations In-demand category.

SINP conducts PNP draws to nominate immigration candidates who possess the necessary skills required for Saskatchewan’s labor market. The ECA of invited candidates was done. These candidates also required a minimum EOI score of 72 under the EOI points grid of the SINP. This score is determined based on factors like education, age, work experience, connections in Saskatchewan, and proficiency in English or French.

Candidates are invited to work in Canada if they possess work experience in one of the 89 eligible jobs. These include occupations like:

  • data scientists
  • sales managers
  • electrical & electronics engineering
  • advertising & marketing managers
  • technologists & technicians

The Occupations In-demand category is for candidates without a federal Express Entry profile. The sub-category is meant for highly skilled workers who have experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan. These candidates don’t have a job offer in the province.

To apply for Canada immigration via this sub-category, foreign candidates must create an EOI profile via SINP’s online application system.

The Express Entry sub-category is linked with the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system manages immigration applications from candidates who apply under Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs namely FSWP, CEC, and FSTP.

The candidates who took part in this draw had created their profiles in the Express Entry system along with creating EOI profiles for Saskatchewan. This makes them eligible for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.

Upon getting a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan, these candidates get 600 extra CRS points. This added to their base CRS score will guarantee them a chance to receive an ITA in an upcoming federal draw.
