Thousands of people get Canada PR every year. Immigrants are instrumental in the progress of Canada’s economy as it has a low birth rate and its provinces are in need of skilled workers to develop. The process of Canada immigration has not ceased even in the face of a crisis like COVID-19.

People love Canada. Canada has many goodies to offer including a high standard of living, a stable economy, job opportunities, and the prospect of getting a Canada PR visa in a simpler manner than what it takes with other countries of the world. You just have to be a skilled, deserving candidate and Canada offers many ways to arrive in the country to study, settle, and work in Canada.

When it comes to immigration Canada has the Express Entry system that manages the applications of potential immigrants who apply under 3 economic immigration programs namely FSTP, FSWP, and CEC.

Besides the federal selection of candidates, Express Entry is also a major source of profiles for provinces to find suitable candidates to recruit them to work in their labor markets. For this, the provinces conduct PNP immigration draws.

When candidates file their application to immigrate to Canada, they create a profile and submit it to IRCC. This profile gets through a process of grading by CRS, which involves ranking the profile on criteria such as age, education, work experience, and proficiency in English or French language.

The higher the ranking, the better the chances of the candidate to make it into getting selected for Canadian immigration. If the candidate gets nominated by a province that sees potential in him/her, 600 CRS points are added to his/her profile, which will bring his/her profile to the front of the line to be picked up in the following Express Entry draw.

CRS points are quite instrumental in deciding the worth of your profile in the Express Entry system. So, let’s understand the number of CRS points required for Canadian immigration in the Express Entry system.

28 points for language skills – It's essential to be able to communicate fluently in English to immigrate to Canada. If you know the other official language of Canada, French, you have a greater advantage when it comes to being selected to the Canadian job market.

25 points for education – If you have had your schooling in Canada, a certificate/diploma/degree from Canada, you stand a better chance to immigrate to the country.

15 points for work experience – The CRS points you receive are based on the number of years of work experience you got doing a full-time job. Part-time work experience for the skill-type 0, A, or B of the NOC will also do if the work duration was at least 15 hours per week for 24 months. For a full-time job, this would be at least 30 hours per week.

12 points for age – The best age is between 20 and 29 years to score most in Canada immigration.

10 points for arranged employment in Canada – For a job offer of a minimum of 1 year in Canada, you will get CRS points. You must have this offer for a job before you arrive in Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker.

10 points for adaptability – You and your partner (spouse or common partner) immigrating with you to Canada can score up to 10 points CRS points for adaptability.

In all, a minimum score of 67 points is needed to qualify for Canada PR in 2021.

Knowing the CRS score essentials will help you make the right preparation for immigrating to Canada.
