Canada conducted the latest Express Entry draw on 29th May. 3,350 candidates received invitations to apply for a Canadian PR. The lowest ranked candidate had a Comprehensive Ranking Score of 470. After 1st May, the 29th May EE round was the first all-programs invitation round. This round also saw a large number of ITAs being issued. The last Express Entry draw was conducted on 15th May and was exclusively for FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program) candidates. 500 ITAs were issued to FSTC candidates in this round, as per CIC News. The Express Entry system manages applications under the below economic migration programs of Canada:
  1. Federal Skilled Workers Program
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program
  3. Canadian Experience Class
There was a gap of almost a month between the last two draws involving all 3 immigration programs. This can be attributed to the high cut-off score in the last draw. As per the past trends, all-program draws were conducted by the EE system every 2 weeks. When there is a larger time gap, the EE pool gets more time to gather more high-scoring applicants. This often results in the cut-off score getting higher. The tie-breaker rule was used even in the latest EE draw. The date and time used were 23rd May 2019 and 10:18:56 UTC. This means that all applicants who had a CRS score higher than 470 received an ITA. Also, all those applicants who had a score of 470 or higher and had submitted their profiles prior to the above time and date also received an ITA. IRCC has issued a total of 35,100 ITAs so far in 2019. Canada has increased the annual immigration target for 2019 under the economic programs of the Express Entry. The immigration intake is expected to increase further in 2020 and 2021. The immigration intake target for 2019 is 81,400 which is 6,500 more than the target of 74,900 in 2017. There are a number of ways through which candidates can increase their CRS score. The most significant among them is to apply through the Provincial Nominee Program. Candidates who succeed in obtaining a provincial nomination get an addition 600 points on their CRS score. This guarantees an invitation for Permanent Residency of Canada.   If you are looking to Study, Work, Visit, Invest or Migrate to Canada, talk to Y-Axis, the World’s No.1 Immigration & Visa Company.
