Canada issues 3350 invitations in the latest EE draw

Canada held the latest Express Entry draw on 1^st May 2019. 3,350 candidates were issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian Permanent Residence. Canada’s Express Entry Program manages the applications for Permanent Residence for the following economic immigration programs:

1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
2. Canadian Experience Class
3. Federal Skilled Trades Class

To apply under the Express Entry program, one needs to submit an online profile. Each profile is given a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) based on attributes like age, education, work experience, language skills etc. Applicants with the highest scores are selected in each draw and are issued an Invitation to Apply for PR. For the 1^st May draw, the minimum score was 450. There was a 1 point drop as compared to the last draw held on 17^th April. 3,350 candidates were invited in the 17^th April draw too. Canada has issued a total of 31,250 invitations until now for 2019. The immigration target for the year 2019 is 81,400, as quoted by Mwakilishi. Candidates who receive an ITA get 60 days time to submit an application for Permanent Residence. Candidates who apply for PR through the Express Entry Program can remain in the EE pool for up to 12 months if not invited. They can continue to improve their CRS Score.
