Saskatchewan conducted a new PNP draw on April 8, 2021. 279 immigration candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination. The candidates who were invited by SINP were specifically from the category of International Skilled Worker.

146 candidates among those invited were from the Express Entry sub-category of SINP. 133 candidates may be nominated for provincial nomination via the Occupations In-demand sub-category.

All candidates invited in the draw required a minimum EOI score of 70 so that they may be invited. Also required for them was educational credential assessments. This was necessary so as to demonstrate that their foreign education had parallels in the Canadian education system.

The candidates were also required to have work experience in one of the 58 in-demand occupations listed by the government. Eligible occupations include social workers, medical laboratory technicians, and educational counselors.

About the Occupations In-Demand sub-category

The Occupations In-demand sub-category is a base PNP. This means that the international immigration candidates don’t require an Express Entry profile.

Candidates with high skill levels and experience in an in-demand job in Saskatchewan are chosen under this sub-category. They also need no job offer in Saskatchewan.

For an immigration candidate to apply for Canada immigration via this sub-category, he/she must create an EOI profile via SINP’s online application system.

The EOI system of Saskatchewan helps the province to bring in immigration candidates who have the ability to thrive in the region. When they are selected, they are assessed on factors such as education, age, work experience, language skills, and connections to Saskatchewan.

These candidates are given scores out of 100 on SINP’s Points Assessment Grid for international skilled workers. Candidates who score the highest are issued an ITA to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR.

About the Express Entry sub-category

SINP’s Express Entry sub-category is also an enhanced PNP. This means that this sub-category has a link to the federal Express Entry system that manages the applications of immigration candidates for 3 economic-class immigration programs: FSTP, FSWP, and CEC.

These Express Entry candidates are required to create EOI profiles for Saskatchewan. This will lead them to be considered for an ITA for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.

These Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan will receive 600 extra CRS points. That will virtually guarantee that they will get an invitation to apply for Canada PR in an upcoming federal immigration draw.
