Are you a foreign worker for Canada, skilled in the fields of AI, IT, and visual effects? Are you ready to settle and work in Canada in the province of Quebec? If yes, you can now take advantage of a new economic immigration pilot project introduced by Quebec for skilled workers like you.

The new 5-year pilot project was launched on April 22, 2021. It lets 550 principal applicants and their families get selected per year to arrive in the province and work in highly specialized fields.

Through this pilot program, highly qualified workers in key employment sectors of Quebec’s economy will arrive, solving the shortage of such people in the province’s labor market.

The new pilot program will also add momentum to Quebec’s efforts for economic recovery.

Under this program, there are 2 streams: IT & Visual Effects and AI. To apply under the AI stream, you must either be a foreign worker or a graduate from Quebec.

In each stream, 2 types of profiles are included: Francization and Francophone.

If you are applying under francization, you must commit while filing the application for permanent selection. You must also commit to learning French. You will be automatically registered with an immigration integration service.

If you are an adult immigrant applying under francophone, you must have a level 7 proficiency in French on the Quebec proficiency level scale.

The chance of non-francophones getting selected in this pilot project makes an exception to the usual immigration procedure in Quebec.

The application period under this new project is open from April 22 to October 31, 2021.
