PEI’s latest draw aims to bring in 345 candidates

PEI PNP draw invites 345 candidates

PEI has invited 345 candidates belonging to the economic immigration category to apply for a provincial nomination in a draw conducted on September 17, 2020. This draw broke another record in the number of invitations in all streams. The earlier draw with the largest number of invitations to Labor Impact and Express Entry candidates was held on August 20, 2020.

In this draw by Prince Edward Island PNP, 313 invitations were sent to candidates in PEI’s Labor Impact and Express Entry categories. 32 candidates were invited via PEI’s Business Impact work permit stream.

PEI PNP follows the intentions and process of PNP, that lets participating territories and provinces to nominate a certain number of candidates belonging to the economic immigration category. They get the opportunity to apply for PR each year.

The PEI PNP is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system manages the pool of candidates for 3 main economic categories of Canada. These are:

The PEI PNP has an Express Entry category that’s aligned with the Express Entry system of the Government of Canada. The eligible candidates are given a CRS score. This score is calculated based on factors such as education, age, work experience, and language proficiency in English and French.

If a provincial nomination is offered to a candidate, that candidate will get an additional 600 points to his/her CRS scores. This effectively guarantees the candidates the receipt of an ITA for PR in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.

An Express Entry candidate will be eligible for a provincial nomination from PEI if he/she has an EOI profile with the PEI PNP.

EOI profiles get points based on unique points grid of PEI. The candidates who score highest will be invited to apply via monthly draws.

Foreigners with a valid job in PEI are served under the Labor Impact category. They have their employer’s support. This category has 3 streams:

  • International Graduate
  • Critical Worker
  • Skilled Worker

These candidates must also make a submission of an EOI profile to be chosen for a provincial nomination.

The Business Impact category candidates in this draw needed at least 102 point of EOI score. The invitations were sent under the Work Permit stream.
