Ontario PNP draw welcomes 21 entrepreneur immigration candidates

About the draw

  • The Ontario PNP draw was held on July 7, 2021.
  • 21 invitations were issued to candidates through the Entrepreneur’s stream.
  • ITAs were issued to OINP candidates who scored between 146 and 200 points.
  • The eligible candidates were those who submitted their EOI before June 29, 2021.

Financial requirements in the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream

Net Worth

  • If the business will be located in the GTA the net worth required is at least $800,000.
  • If the business will be located outside the GTA the minimum net worth required is $800,000.
  • The minimum net worth of the business must be $400,000 anywhere in the province if it’s in either digital communications or ICT.

Investment and Ownership

  • A minimum investment of $600,000 is required in an Ontario business. The candidate must own at least 33% in case the business is in GTA.
  • If the business is outside GTA, the minimum investment required is $200,000. The candidate must own at least 33%.
  • If the proposed business is in either digital communications or ICT, the minimum investment required is $200,000. The candidate must own at least 33%, no matter wherever the business is set up in the province.

Non-financial requirements in the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream

  • The candidate must have a minimum full-time business experience of 24 months in the past 60 months. The candidate must have been the business’s owner or senior manager.
  • The candidate must create 2 full-time jobs for Canadian permanent residents or citizens in the company proposed if it’s situated inside the GTA. One full-time job must be created for Canadian PRs or citizens if the business is located:
    • located outside the GTA or
    • is into digital communications or ICT.
  • The candidate must visit Ontario to explore it, in the 12 months prior to submitting the application. (Applies to those buying a business that exists in the province).
  • The candidate must have a minimum CLB score of 4 in the English/French language.
  • The candidate must be physically residing in Ontario for a minimum of 75% of the time devoted to managing the business.
