The Canadian province of Quebec has issued a new guide that details the complete procedure to be followed by prospective Canada PR visa holders. Only by following these instructions can such candidates be able to settle in Quebec.

The immigration procedures guide is available published on MIFI’s website. The guide is titled “Guide des procédures d’immigration” (GPI). This new guide replaces the old GPI which was removed from the MIFI’s website on August 2, 2018.

The controversial values test for new immigrants is a part of the new GPI. The new GPI states that foreign nationals and their family members aged over 18 years moving to Quebec must show that they have full knowledge about Quebec values and democratic values as laid out in the human rights & freedoms charter of Quebec. The only exemption to this condition is if the candidate is limited in his/her ability owing to a medical condition.

The new immigration procedures also include the addition of the Arrima portal for online immigration applications. The portal was launched in 2019. The portal has since helped in the speedier processing of Canada immigration applications for those who want to settle in Quebec.
