Manitoba invited 275 immigration candidates in yet another Manitoba PNP draw that was held on August 12, 2021. The selected candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

After successfully obtaining a nomination from Manitoba, these candidates will be eligible to apply for Canada PR.

Here’s a summary of the draw results:

Category No. Of invitations Min. EOI score
International Education Stream 31 -
Skilled Workers Overseas 6 719
Skilled Workers in Manitoba 238 454

Express Entry candidates received 36 invitations in all.

Any candidate has to register an EOI with the Manitoba PNP to get a nomination from Manitoba. The candidates thus become eligible to get an LAA (invitation) via the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams.

Manitoba PNP ranks the candidates out of 1,000 points. Considering the candidate’s human capital factors. The aim of the migration streams under Manitoba PNP is to let Manitoba find immigration candidates who can meet the needs of the province’s labor market needs.

Among the criteria these candidates have to meet is proving previous ties with the province of Manitoba. This could be found via previous experience in the province, close family ties, or being invited via one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. It’s not mandatory for candidates to be residing in Manitoba while applying for nomination.

If candidates want to get invited to Manitoba under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category, they must have a job offer for a full-time job from an employer in the province.

About Express Entry

Express Entry is a points-based application management system used by the federal government to manage applications for immigration. These applications are filed for 3 federal high-skilled immigration programs namely CEC, FSTP, and FSWP.

The applicants to Express Entry have their profiles added to a candidate pool that's accessible to both federal and provincial governments. Every candidate profile is ranked by CRS with scores assigned. Factors like age, education, work experience, and skills in Canada’s official language are considered to decide the scores.

When provincial governments choose Express Entry candidates through PNP draws, they automatically add 600 extra points to their original CRS scores. This way, the candidates get a higher score that will increase their chances to get an ITA to the near surety in a forthcoming federal immigration draw.

The highest-scoring Express Entry candidates are invited by IRCC to apply for Canada PR when they take part in regular invitation rounds. Those who are invited can officially apply for Canada immigration.
