About immigration programs of Manitoba
Manitoba PNP offers the opportunity to immigrate to Canada as it supports applications for Canada PR to the federal government. Candidates who get selected for a provincial nomination from Manitoba get a greater chance to apply to get a Canada PR in a federal immigration draw. This is because of the 600 CRS points they receive once they get nominated by Manitoba.
Those who want to get this benefit must first register an EOI with the Manitoba PNP. Candidates who do this will be in a position to get an LAA via the streams of Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba.
These candidates are ranked by Manitoba by assigning scores out of 1,000 points. The score is determined by their connections to Manitoba and human capital factors.
About Manitoba’s immigration streams
Skilled Workers Overseas
Candidates under this category are required to demonstrate their Manitoba connections. These may be through prior experience in Manitoba, close family ties with people in Manitoba, or an invitation via one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
Candidates needn’t be residing in Manitoba while applying to get eligibility.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
Only candidates having a full-time job offer from an employer in Manitoba can get an invitation under this category.
International Education
International graduates who have done their education in Manitoba are eligible to get an invitation under this stream if they are able to demonstrate that they possess in-demand skills.
About Express Entry
The Canadian federal government uses Express Entry as the system to manage applications for Canada PR. These applications are for 3 federal immigration programs for highly skilled candidates. They are CEC, FSTP, and FSWP.
Individuals who want to immigrate to Canada can either use the Express Entry draw as a pathway or take the PNP route to receive an invitation for Canada PR.
Those who take the PNP route will get the opportunity of getting a Canada PR with the help of a provincial nomination. With a provincial nomination, they are effectively handed a chance to get an ITA in a federal draw held by IRCC for which the extra 600 CRS points automatically granted by Manitoba proves helpful.
What’s CRS?
Every profile submitted by an immigration candidate in the Express Entry system is ranked by CRS on the basis of certain factors. They include education, work experience, age, and skills in the English language. Candidates who get the highest CRS scores get invitations to file an application for Canada PR via Express Entry draws held regularly.
