On May 6, 2021, Manitoba invited 150 immigration candidates in a Manitoba PNP draw. These candidates were invited to submit an application for a provincial nomination that will lead to a better opportunity for getting Canada PR.

Through these immigration draws at the provincial level Manitoba invites immigration candidates to apply via one of the following PNP streams:

  • International Education Stream
  • Skilled Workers Overseas
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba

Candidates invited via these streams must have submitted an EOI profile.

Here is the brief information of the results of the round of invitations held on May 6, 2021:

  • International Education Stream - 13 invitations - No EOI score required
  • Skilled Workers Overseas- 29 invitations - Minimum EOI score required was 703
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba - 104 invitations - Minimum EOI score required was 400

14 invitations, also called LAAs were sent to Express Entry candidates.

Immigration programs in Manitoba

Manitoba conducts a few immigration programs meant to attract skilled and talented international candidates to become residents of the province. The MPNP is the body that supports the management of applications for immigration submitted to the federal government. Since provincial governments don’t have the power to grant Canada PR, they play an assistive role in bringing in bright candidates who settle in the respective province.

Anyone interested in benefitting from a Manitoba nomination must first register an EOI with the MPNP. This sets an opportunity to get an LAA via the immigration streams of Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba.

These profiles are then ranked by Manitoba PNP out of 1,000 points. They consider human capital factors to determine the score. The candidate’s connection with the province of Manitoba is also considered. The connection could be a work experience in Manitoba, a close family relation, or an invitation via one of the strategic initiatives of Manitoba.

The candidates must have a full-time job offer from an employee in the province under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category.

International graduates from Manitoba can get their LAA under the International Education Stream. For this, they are required to demonstrate that they have the in-demand skills the province is looking for.
