July 2021 figures reveal Canada immigration on track and rolling

Canada’s Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino has put out some delightful news for those who love to hear about Canada immigration. He has stated that his country is very much on track to achieve the immigration goal of 401,000 newcomers in 2021.

How could he say that?

As per the statistics in July 2021, under Canada immigration, 39,500 newcomers have been added to the population of immigrants in Canada. This is an advancement from 35,700 new immigrants in June 2021. So, if Mendicino is confident about achieving the Canada immigration target set in the Immigration Levels Plan 2021-2023, that’s no surprise.

There’s no stopping IRCC from chasing highly ambitious immigration targets. Canada has admitted about 184,000 new immigrants in 2021 so far.

Canada has welcomed new immigrants at a higher level in the months of June and July 2021. It seems to be a move to catch up with the high target the country has to achieve. Also, this will help garner more support for the economic recovery post-COVID.

What’s left to do to achieve the annual target?

IRCC must admit 217,000 more new immigrants in the remaining months of 2021 to achieve its target for 2021. In other words, an average admission of 43,400 newcomers per month will be necessary.

Canada’s areas of advantage

• Canada can allow 23,000 COPR holders to move to the country as travel restrictions have been eased for them now.
• Even any other candidates whose Canada PR application has been approved can now move to the country.
• By the end of 2021, Canada expects to process 40,000 applications received from essential workers and international graduates via 6 new Canada immigration streams.
• By choosing to focus on CEC candidates in all of the recent draws held by IRCC, a significant number of newcomers are expected to quickly turn permanent residents. This is because 90% of these candidates are already present in the country.
