In January and February 2023, new PRs for Canadian immigration rose by approximately 40%, as per the latest data from IRCC, compared to the same period in the previous year.

At the current pace, the tally of new permanent residents is anticipated to surpass 602,580 by the close of 2023.
The province of Ottawa has outlined its 2023-2025 Immigration Levels Plan, which includes a target of 465,000 new permanent residents (PRs) by 2023, 485,000 new PRs by 2024, and 500,000 new PRs by 2025.
The table below displays the provinces that witnessed a more significant increase in the percentage of new permanent residents during the first two months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
