Canada's $200 billion healthcare budget signals high demand for professionals

Highlights: Canada plans on investing $200 billion over the next 10 years

  • Canada's government plans to invest $200 billion in healthcare over the next 10 years.
  • A total of $46.2 billion was allotted to the provinces and territories of the country.
  • Canada Health Transfer measures are also assigned to each Canadian province by signing bilateral agreements.
  • $13 billion is the additional estimated budget for dental plans over the next five years.

Canadian Dental Care for Citizens

  • An agreement was signed up between the Liberal government and the NDP to come up with dental plans for Canadian citizens without prior insurance.
  • The budget plans on allotting $13 billion for dental care alone over a period of five years.
  • $4.4 billion is the current budget for the execution of Dental policies like the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
  • As per reports, $378.60 is the approximate cost per Canadian spending on dental services.

New Dental plan of Canada

  • The new dental plan of Canada offers to provide coverage for citizens who are not insured and with an annual family income below $90,000.
  • There will be no co-pays for citizens with an annual income of under $70,000.
  • A different set of eligibility will be made applicable for temporary residents and permanent citizens of the country.
  • The Canada Dental Benefit plan is for children of families that are not insured.
  • The advantages of the Canada Dental Benefits Plan are highly beneficial, giving guardians and parents of children under 12 years of age free and direct access to payments with no tax additions.
  • A total of $158.4 million will be allotted for the prevention of suicide and mental health.
