India can avail visa-free travel to Thailand by the year-end

India and China are a major source of tourists for Thailand. Hence to enhance the tourism industry in the country, Thailand is planning to introduce visa-free travel for both countries.

India is currently eligible for the visa-on-arrival facility in Thailand. The country has also waived off the visa fee for Indians till October 2019.

Minister of Tourism, Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, announced that India and China would be able to avail visa-free travel by the end of this year. Travelers from India and China would be able to enjoy a visa-free stay for up to 14 days.

The new visa change could come into effect as early as 1st November 2019. It is expected to make a major impact on the tourism industry of Thailand.
