As the cost of Malta’s new citizenship program is set to go up by €150,000, Dubai-based RIF Trust has given a heads up to those interested in the current Malta Program. They are advised to book an appointment before July 31, 2020.

The RIF trust that alerted on the rising fees is a chief residency and citizenship by investment advisory. The company has stated that booking sooner will save €150,000 as its quota is almost filled now.

The Malta Program is very popular in Saudi Arabia. Malta authorities had granted a concession of 1,800 families to get a limited number of passports in 2013.

MimounAssraoui, the CEO of the RIF trust, has pointed out that its clients from Saudi Arabia with high net worth are trying to access the USA and Europe better for themselves as well as their families. If they have a Malta passport, they could access any part of the world.

Assraoui pin-pointed the fact that many can’t afford €1 million capital outlay or are looking for permanent residency rather than citizenship. They are opting for Malta’s Residency and Visa Program that costs them €190,000.

The Malta Program gives the main applicants and their family permanent residency quickly. It also gives visa-free access to26 Schengen nations in the EU.

Since the COVID-19 crisis started, Malta decided to impose bans on the entry as well as travel restrictions in order to stop the spread of the virus through those including the ones arriving on Malta visit visa.

Malta announced the expansion of its list of world citizens eligible to enter the country, on July 15, 2020. This followed the improvement in the pandemic situation that allowed it to slowly lift some of the restrictions it imposed. New third countries have been added to the exempted list. These inclusions have been totally out of line with the recommendations of EU Council and EU Commission.

Since July 1, 2020, commercial travel to Malta was reopened for several EU nationals.
