Learn about the different pathways present for you if you are a UAE resident wanting to immigrate to Canada in 2021.
Are you in the UAE and desirous to move to Canada? Immigration to Canada for you is not too hard and in fact, the UAE is an important sourcing country for new Canada PR.
As a sourcing nation, the UAE doesn’t have many UAE nationals who are willing to do Canada immigration. But those who mention the UAE as the previous country migrating to Canada is high.
There are many options for UAE residents to immigrate to Canada. Now that Canada has stepped up its activities to surpass COVID-19 and accelerate its immigration processes, the stage is set for you to consider taking a Canada immigration visa.
Options to immigrate to Canada
Federal Economic Class
The economic class is the major source of immigrants under Canada immigration. The Federal High Skilled category is the largest group within the economic class. The following are the immigration streams available to apply for Canada PR from the UAE.
The immigration programs under this class are:
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Canada Experience Class
Using the Express Entry, Canada operates its economic class immigration. The applicants have to submit a profile with the Express Entry, that will get ranked by CRS. The candidates ranked the highest will be sent ITAs to one of the above-said immigration programs.
Once you receive an ITA, you will have 60 days to submit a full application for permanent residence.
If you are an entrepreneur, the Business Immigration program is for you. If you are an investor in business ventures, you can participate in any of the following programs:
- Start-Up Visa Program – Private sector investors can either be a business incubator or venture capital fund or angel investor.
- Self Employed Program
- Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program
Family Class Sponsorship
If you, a UAE resident, have a Canadian citizen or Canada PR visa holder as a family member who’s willing to sponsor you to live with them, you can apply through this pathway.
Your family member in Canada can sponsor you if you are:
|A spouse||A common-law partner||Dependent child|
|Brother/Sister||Nephews/Niece||Orphaned Granddaughter/Grandson under 18 years of age not married or in a common-law relationship|
The sponsor in Canada should:
- Be aged at least 18 years
- Have signed a sponsorship agreement through which you commit to providing financial support for the sponsored relative if needed
- Financially support a common-law partner, spouse, or conjugal partner for 3 years from the date of becoming a PR
- Financially support a dependent child for 10 years or until the child turns 25, whichever happens first
Transition to PR from being a temporary resident
The very obvious way could be to start off as a temporary worker, stay as long as needed, and in time apply for a Canada PR Visa.
Provincial Economic Class
Every province has its own immigration program that’s conducted under the Canada PNP. Sometimes the provincial immigration candidates will be chosen from the Canada Express Entry pool. In such a case, their CRS scores will get an additional 600 points if they are nominated by a province to immigrate to it.
As an aspiring skilled person, you can look forward to opportunities that are present in the province. You can join prospective jobs and help the province to address worker shortage in the province’s labor market.
Quebec is a province that has its own immigration system and similar to PNP, offers you the chance to immigrate to the province when the right opportunity presents itself.
