Eligibility criteria for Australia work visa

Here are the eligibility criteria for an Australia work visa:

  • You have to be under the age of 45 when you receive an invitation from DHA.
  • You should have sufficiently able in the English language so that you can be employed in Australia (a minimum of competent level). You can determine your ability in the English language via the International English Language Testing System. This test is mandatory for immigrants from who don’t speak English as their native language.
  • You should apply for a work visa being nominated for a skilled occupation, which suits your qualifications and skills. Your nominated occupation has to be present on one of the relevant SOL (Skilled Occupation Lists).
  • In order to apply for a work visa in Australia, you must get an assessment done for your skills. This will be done by the designated assessing authority in Australia. It’s necessary that your assessment yields a positive result.
  • It’s also necessary that you go through a medical assessment. The results of the assessment could prove that you are at a reasonable level of good health. A doctor registered with the Australian Embassy will do it.
