The Foreign Workers Stream of Ontario is now open

Ontario had temporarily suspended the Foreign Workers Stream of the OINP in April this year. However, the Foreign Workers Stream of Ontario is now open to applications. You may apply for this stream through the e-filing portal of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. Candidates who are successful will get a support letter for a Work Permit. This letter will allow them to apply for a Work Permit for Canada while their Permanent Residence application is under process. Here are the advantages of the Foreign Workers Stream:

• There is minimum language proficiency or education qualification requirement
• You do not need to have any previous connection with the province of Ontario

Candidates who get selected can submit a paper-based PR application to IRCC. What is the eligibility for the Foreign Workers Stream? To be eligible for the Foreign Workers Stream, you must have a job offer from Ontario. Your job-offer should be full-time and the salary offered should be at or above the median wage in the province. Also, your job offer should be in any occupation under NOC 0, A or B. You should have 2 years of relevant work experience in the recent 5 years to qualify for the Foreign Workers Stream. Your experience should be in the same occupation as in your offer letter. You may be exempt from this requirement if you hold a license or authorization to practice a certain occupation. Your license or authorization should have been issued by the authorised regulatory body in Ontario.
