Which countries offer visa-free travel and e-Visas to Australians?

Certain countries in the world offer visa-free travel and e-Visas to Australian citizens.  Australians can now travel with lesser complications as they now have passports with microchips which can be scanned at airports. Immigration Officers also have access to an information database that makes it easier to screen passengers entering the country.  Here are the countries that Australian can travel to visa-free or with an e-Visa: 

• India 

India has recently started offering e-Visa services with a validity of 1 year. With an electronic Tourist Visa, tourist may visit India multiple times. Each time, they will be allowed to stay for a period of up to 90 days. 

• China 

Australian can travel visa-free to China. They can also enjoy longer stays in many prominent cities in China. Australians can stay for up to 144 hours in several cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing and Hangzhou without a visa. However, to be eligible for the visa-free travel Australians should have an onward ticket showing that they would be exiting China within the 144 hours. 

• Sri Lanka 

Australians can avail visa-on-arrival service in Sri Lanka. This will allow them to stay in Sri Lanka for up to 90 days at a time. Sri Lanka also offers non-immigrant visas and multiple-entry visas on arrival. 

• Madagascar 

Australians can apply for an e-Visa for Madagascar. They can stay for up to 90 days in the country on an e-Visa.  

• Egypt 

Australians can avail multiple-entry or single-entry e-Visas to Egypt 

• Ethiopia 

Ethiopia offers e-Visas to Australians with a validity of 30 or 90 days. 

• Uzbekistan 

Australians do not need a visa to travel to Uzbekistan. They are allowed to stay in the country for up to 30 days. 

• Kazakhstan
