  • The Labour Force Survey reported an increase in employment rates in Canada in February 2024. 
  • Canada recorded a rise of 41,000 as of February 2024. 
  • Women aged 25 to 54 reported an employment increase rate of 0.7% and 0.3% for men. 
  • Nova Scotia witnessed the highest percentage of employment hike of 1.2%.

Employment rate in Canada 

Recent reports by the Labour Force Survey showed a 0.2% employment rate hike in February 2024. Employment in Canada rose by 41,000 in February and 37,000 in January 2024. Part-time work in Canada shot up by 3%, reporting an increase of 108,000 annually.

Employment rates among core-aged Men vs. Women 

The employment rate in women shot up to 81.4% in February 2024, whereas the employment rate for men remained steady at 87.2%.
