Do you want to relocate to Germany from the UAE without a job offer in 2022? Since Europe's largest economy is growing at a breakneck speed and is also facing labor shortages, the answer is a yes. Moreover, the country offers incentives like free education, universal healthcare, and high quality of living.

If you are a skilled migrant thinking of settling down in this West European country with your family, your first process should be to apply for a German job seeker visa.

German Job Seeker visa

A Job Seeker visa of Germany is a long-term work permit that allows you to enter Germany for six months and scour for a job. You can choose to appear for an interview in Germany while physically there. A Job Seeker visa does not allow you to work as its intention is only to help you find work in Germany.

Once you get a job in Germany, following the visa's expiry, a German work permit, a German work visa, will be issued to let you live and work in the country.

In case you do not get a job offer by the end of six months, you will have to leave Germany.

With the enforcement of the Skilled Workers Immigration Act, there will be more opportunities in Germany for skilled foreign workers. Germany even allows skilled international workers from non-EU countries who do not have a degree to enter the country for work. *Check your eligibility to Germany with the help of Y-Axis Germany Immigration Points calculator. Without educational qualifications

Germany has been welcoming foreign workers with vocational training experience into its borders to look for a job. The only condition is that the foreign vocational expertise needs to be recognized by a designated German body.

In addition, migrants must have sufficient funds to support themselves during their entire stay in Germany. It will also help if they have basic proficiency in the German language – B-1 level.

The Skilled Workers Immigration Act also allows you to work on a trial basis while hunting in Germany for a maximum of 10 hours per week with a job seeker visa.

It was not the case before the Skilled Workers Immigration Act was introduced. You were allowed only to hunt on a Job Seeker visa for a job.

The trial work option allows Germany-based companies and foreign employees to see if they are compatible.

Germany welcomes non-EU professionals

In December 2019, the German government signed a formal plan for hiring non-EU workers. It adopted a memorandum an agreement with union representatives and business persons. It is an attempt on the part of Germany to remove bureaucratic hassles for international workers who could arrive on its shores from any part of the world.

As per the memorandum, 'Make it in Germany,' a German government information portal was introduced to proactively welcome skilled foreign workers into the country. It also decided to fast-track visa processes so that workers can come to Germany sooner and begin working; it has made recognizing foreign qualifications easier and will help business houses aid new workers to find accommodation, do away with red tape and train them in the German language.

The German government's approach to plugging the gaps in the labor force includes the following measures:

(1) aiding unemployed individuals within the country to acquire skills so that they can be placed in jobs where there are skill shortages

(2) Hiring skilled workers from the other member states of the EU

(3) Fixing the outstanding jobs gaps with workers from non-EU states.

Germany seeks to encourage skilled foreign workers from various countries

The German government is looking to attract talented individuals from India, the Philippines, Mexico, Vietnam, and Brazil, among others.

Germany to encourage self-employed individuals to start their own business

Germany has decided to encourage entrepreneurs and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) to start their own businesses or develop the existing ones in Germany. Individuals interested in such projects must initially apply for a residence permit and then seek a go-ahead from the government to start it. They will have to apply for a self-employment visa if they want to arrive temporarily in Germany to start their businesses.

These visas will only be approved after the authorities check the viability of their business propositions by rereading their business plans and checking out their prior experience carrying out businesses.

Meanwhile, applicants will have to prove that they have sufficient capital to start their business and that their business has the capability to meet economic and regional requirements in Germany. Those who get approval will obtain an unlimited extension for their residence permits.
