Australia’s New Ministerial Direction 107

Ministerial Direction No. 107 authorizes the Government’s processing priorities for student and student guardian visa programs. The programs work on strengthening the education sector on an international level.

Every education provider that is CRICOS-registered will have an education level allocated to them. Ministerial Direction 107 collaborates with the evidence-level framework to prioritize international student applications.

Important Factors of the Ministerial Direction 107

The new Ministerial Direction 107 gives a high priority to student visa applications that are lodged outside Australia.

 

  1. Applications filed outside Australia are prioritized when it is filed by:
  • It is filed by student sectors
  • Foreign Affairs or Defence sector
  • Postgraduate Research Sector

 

  1. Applicants belonging to the non-award sector with an Evidence Level 1 at an education provider, along with:
  • English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS)
  • Higher Education
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET)

 

  1. Visa applications of Student Guardian
  2. Entrant applications that include unmarried family members under 18 years of age that are filed outside Canada.
