Italy's new Decreto Flussi 2026‑2028 authorises 497,550 non‑EU worker entries over three years — 164,850 in 2026 alone. UAE residents can still apply for the current 2026 quota (applications remain open until 31 December 2026, subject to slots being available).

Get a Job Offer from an Italy-based employer
Employer applies for the Nulla Osta (work authorisation) via the Sportello Unico per l'Immigrazione, typically 30–60 days, depending on province and whether a labour-market test is required
Once the Nulla Osta is approved, the employer must confirm within 7 days; you then have up to 180 days to book your consulate visa appointment
Book your appointment at the Italian Consulate in Dubai
Submit visa application + supporting documents
Attend biometric interview
Consulate visa processing, typically 15–45 days
Upon arrival in Italy, sign the Contratto di Soggiorno and apply for your residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) within 8 working days
All documents must be translated to Italian and authenticated where necessary.
Because the process runs in stages — Nulla Osta issuance, consulate visa processing, then residence permit, start at least 4–6 months before your planned start date, not 90 days. For Decreto Flussi non-seasonal slots, get your documents precompiled and ready well before the click day opens, since processing only begins after your employer's application is submitted and approved.
For seasonal or Decreto Flussi slots, apply as soon as the quota opens.
