Subclass 186 Visa Australia

The Employer Nomination Scheme visa, or the Subclass 186 visa, allows skilled workers to temporarily reside and work in Australia. Subclass 186 visa is employer-nominated, making it more challenging to acquire than the other visas. 

Subclass 186 Streams

The Subclass 186 visa is categorized into three streams that are listed below:

  • Direct Entry stream
  • Labor agreement stream
  • Temporary Residence Transition stream

Direct Entry Stream 

  • The Direct Entry Stream is for individuals nominated by an Australian employer. Candidates can reside and work in Australia permanently.
  • The candidate must have a nomination from an Australian-based employer.
  • The occupation of the candidate must be listed on the list of eligible skilled occupations.
  • The candidate must be proficient in English.

Labor agreement stream

  • The Labour Agreement stream allows individuals to permanently reside and seek employment in Australia, provided their employer is part of a Labor Agreement.

Temporary Residence Transition stream

  • The Temporary Residence Transition stream is for individuals who possess or have previously owned temporary work visas like the TSS or Subclass 457 visa.
  • The candidate is required to have worked a full-time job for an employer for a minimum of 3 years.
  • The candidate is required to have a nomination from the concerned employer.

186 Visa Benefits

  • The candidate must meet the health requirements.
  • The candidate must meet the character requirements.

  • Prior work experience and qualifications
  • Form 956 & Form 956a
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Health certificate
