Spain Visit Visa from Dubai: Requirements & Documents

Spain is one of the most visited countries in the Schengen Area, and for good reason from Barcelona's architecture to Andalusia's coastline, the country draws millions of visitors every year. If you are planning to visit from Dubai, the visa you need depends on the passport you hold.

UAE nationals with a valid ordinary passport currently enjoy visa-free entry to Spain and the rest of the Schengen Area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. From Q4 2026, UAE nationals will need ETIAS a quick online pre-travel authorisation but this is not a visa, and it does not change the visa-free arrangement.

If you hold any other nationality and are residing in the UAE, you will need a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) to visit Spain. Applications from Dubai and the Northern Emirates are submitted through BLS International Spain's official visa application partner in the UAE not through VFS Global.

With a Schengen visa you can travel to and stay in Spain and all the other 26 Schengen countries.

Eligibility Requirements for Spain Visit Visa:

• A valid passport whose validity will exceed the duration of the visa you apply for by three months
• Old passports if any
• 2 passport size photos
• A copy of your completed and signed application form
• Proof of hotel bookings, flight bookings and a detailed plan of your activities during the duration of your stay in Spain
• Copy of tour ticket
• Copy of return ticket reservation
• Proof of having enough finances to support your travel and stay in the country
• Valid medical insurance with a cover of 30,000 pounds
• Cover letter mentioning the purpose of your visit to Spain and your itinerary
• Proof of accommodation during the duration of stay
• Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children etc.)
• Invitation letter containing the address and phone number of the family member or sponsor.
• Bank statement of the last 6 months

Financial Requirements for Spain Schengen Visa

The Embassy of Spain does not publish a fixed daily minimum, but a commonly applied and widely cited benchmark across Schengen consulates is EUR 50 to EUR 80 per day of your intended stay. For a 10-day trip, this suggests demonstrating funds of approximately EUR 500 to EUR 800 (AED 2,000 to AED 3,200) — on top of having already covered your accommodation and flights, which should be pre-booked and included in your application.

What Your Bank Statements Should Show

• Duration: Last 3 to 6 months
• Pattern: Consistent, regular income credits — salary, business income, or pension
• Balance: Sufficient and stable — do not make sudden large deposits immediately before applying; consulate officers are experienced at identifying borrowed funds
• Format: Printed on official bank letterhead, ideally stamped. Online printouts are accepted by BLS but carry less weight than stamped originals

If You Are Sponsored

If a family member or employer is funding your trip, provide a notarised sponsorship letter along with that person's bank statements and proof of their relationship to you. The sponsor's financial documentation must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover both their own expenses and yours.
