UK Visas and Immigration will launch the High Potential Individual (HPI) visa route on May 30, 2022, for candidates who are rewarded between 1 November 2021 and 31 October 2022.
Objective of HPI visa: Itaims to give British businesses access to an influx of skilled young workers
HPI route, the best path for talented students
The HPI route is specifically designed to entice top global graduates to the UK. This is a short-term visa for students to begin their early careers after completing their courses in top universities. UK government has launched this to benefit the UK workforce.
This is especially for students who have graduated during the mentioned period. The UK government will release the eligible universities tabled between 2016 and 2020. The candidates who are eligible can apply for an HPI visa without any job offer in the UK.
Eligibility criteria to qualify for an HPI visa
Candidates of any nationality having 18 years of age.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Post-Doctorate degrees from a qualified school within the past five years.
An English language requirement, either from English-speaking country or that you’ve passed a test or received a degree demonstrating your English language ability.
Financial requirement, of a minimum £1,270 available in cash.

Duration of HPI visa
If you have a Ph.D., then you can stay for three years. Whereas the candidates with Bachelor’s and Master’s can stay up to 2 years in the UK with an HPI visa.

The High Potential Individual Visa is available to recent graduates of top global universities who wish to work, or look for work, in the UK.
Who is eligible to apply for this visa?
Age 18yrs or over
Should have, in the last 5 years, been awarded an overseas degree level academic qualification from an institution which appears on the Global Universities List
English language to at least CEFR Level B1 (equivalent to IELTS 4.0)
Enough proof of funds to support yourself without relying on public funds
Previously been granted permission under the Student Doctorate Extension Scheme, as a Graduate or as a High Potential Individual
