A 1-month grace period has been granted to international students currently in the UK on their UK Tier 4 visas that have expired on July 31, 2020. This is to help them to make arrangements to travel out of the country.
These students who came to study in UK have been stranded in the country after COVID-19 began to spread and preventive measures have been implemented in the country. In this circumstance, they were given the facility to extend their visas.
For international students whose stay in the UK was due to end between January 24, 2020, and July 31, 2020, the Home Office has allowed an extension of time of stay in the country in case they are unable to go back home.
So, now with Home Office granting a grace period, these international students have time till August 31, 2020, to make travel arrangements to leave the UK.
The conditions for staying back in the UK for these international students are the same. That means, if they are permitted by the current rule to work during the stay, they can do so till August 31, 2020.
For those, whose visas expired on July 31, 2020, there is no extension allowed and are instructed to apply for settled status or leave the UK.
