German Startups Request Govt to Ease Immigration Policies for International Hires

The German Startup Association has appealed to the Government to reduce the processing times and simplify the immigration process for foreigners looking to work in the country. The German Startup Monitor 2024 has gathered data from nearly 1,859 startups in Germany. As per the data, around 17% of the companies have expressed satisfaction with the hiring process of international workers, which is comparitively low compared to those are not unsatisfied. 

 

Startups urged that providing proper accommodation and offering streamlined immigration processes and policies could attract more foreign workers. Migrants filling up job opportunities in Germany could help promote and maintain its economic growth.

 

Germany is seeking 288,000 foreign workers annually until 2040, creating more employment opportunities.

Germany Introduces New Policies for Foreign Workers  

The German Government has already announced many new immigration policies for foreign workers. The introduction of the Chancenkarte is one such measure the government took to bring skilled foreign workers to the country. The German Opportunity Card has facilitated the integration process of foreigners in the German market.

 

To apply for a German Opportunity Card, you must follow the below requirements:

  • German or English language proficiency
  • Recognized educational qualifications
  • Proof of funds worth €12,324
  • Must be aged between 18-40 years
  • Have at least 2 years of work experience
  • Have previously stayed in the Germany for a minimum of 6 months
