PEI's latest PNP draw welcomes 254 new immigrants

The latest PNP immigration draw held by PEI on November 19, 2020, invited 254 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR. The invites went as follows:

Express Entry &Labor Impact categories	221 invites
Business Impact category	33 invites
The minimum point requirement was fixed at 92.

PNP is a major sourcing program for Canadian provinces that are in need of immigrants to meet the province’s labor market requirements for skilled workers. The PNPs sometimes even alignwith the Express Entry system. PEI PNP is one such program.

Express Entry System

Manages Canada’s immigration applications for 3 economic-class categories of Canada immigration namely, FSWP, FSTP, and CEC.

CRS

CRS score is used to rank the applications and profiles of applicants entering the Express Entry pool. The scores are given based on human capital factors like age, work experience, education, and proficiency in English and French.

Provincial nomination

If a province nominates a candidate, he/she will be granted extra 600 points on the CRS score. This will in effect ensure that he/she will receive an ITA in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.

Express Entry candidates in PEI PNP eligible for an invite will have an EOI profile with the Prince Edward Island PNP. The EOI profiles are given points based on the unique points grid of the province. The candidates who score the highest will get invited via draws conducted monthly.

Labor Impact category
This category is for foreign nationals with a valid job offer in PEI along with support from their employer. It’s divided into 3 streams
Critical Worker	Skilled Worker	International Graduate
The candidates in this category must submit their EOI profile for eligibility to be considered for a provincial nomination via this category.
Business Impact category
It’s a category meant for foreign entrepreneurs wanting to own and run a business in PEI.
