PEI (Prince Edward Island PNP) conducted 3 PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) draws in the month of June 2020. 90 Canada immigration candidates were invited in these draws.

The first draw was held on June 10, 2020. It invited 9 candidates from the Express Entry and Labor Impact streams. Another draw was held on June 18, 2020. 10 invitations have been sent to candidates of the same categories in the draw.

In the draw conducted on June 23, 2020, 91 invitations have been issued. The candidates included those who belonged to the Business Impact stream. Out of the 91, 20 candidates belonged to the Business Impact stream. It was also the first time candidates of this stream have been invited after the COVID-19 pandemic struck Canada. In the same draw, 71 Express Entry and Labor candidates constituted the rest of those invited.

The PEI PNP Express Entry is aligned with the Express Entry system of the Government of Canada. The Express Entry has the task of managing applications for economic class categories in immigration namely:

  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program

The candidates eligible to participate in an Express Entry draw will get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for their profiles based on human capital factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency in English and French.

Candidates who receive provincial nomination will be awarded 600 extra points on their original CRS scores. This, in effect, will guarantee the issue of Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in an upcoming Express Entry draw.

To be eligible for a provincial nomination from PEI, Express Entry candidates must create an EOI (Expression of Interest) profile with PEI PNP. These profiles will then be given points and the highest scorers will then be invited to apply via monthly draws.
