On June 16, 2021, Ontario conducted an immigration PNP draw. In that round of invitations, 940 immigration candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR.

The OINP issued invitations to candidates with profiles in the new EOI candidate pool. Candidates were possibly qualified for any of the two Employer Job Offer streams.

In all, 569 candidates received invitations. They were possibly eligible for the Foreign Worker stream. These candidates were required to have a minimum score of 38. No targeted occupations were specified. Also, no requirements were given for location in this draw.

The balance 371 invitations were sent offering to apply for a nomination to candidates belonging to the International Student stream. These candidates required a minimum EOI score of 66 to be eligible for an invitation.

What’s Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream?

The Ontario Foreign Worker stream comes under the Employer Job Offer category. The stream is accessible to foreign nationals with a job offer from an employer in Ontario, that’s deemed eligible. The candidate has no necessity to apply from inside Canada, till the time he/she meets the eligibility criteria.

To gain eligibility the candidate must acquire work experience that’s equivalent to 2 years in a skilled occupation. He/she must also have a job offer in Ontario that’s deemed eligible. The candidate must as well have the intention to immigrate to the province.

If a candidate wants to file an application for this PNP, he/she must register an EOI profile. This can be done on the website of Ontario province.

Once the profile is registered, it will be added to the EOI pool. A score will also be assigned by OINP on the basis of the information the candidate submits.

These include the skill level of the job offered to the candidate and the candidate’s work experience in Canada. The NOC system is used to assign points.

Based on the immigration stream applied for, the OINP scoring system will be different. Among other factors considered are the candidate’s education, wage, the region in which the candidate studies or works, and skills in the official language. The province also makes a discretionary allocation of 10 points to respond to the requirements in its labor market.
