MPNP Canada issues 196 invitations in the latest draw

In the latest draw conducted on 23^rd May, MPNP issued 196 invitations for Canadian Permanent Residence. 119 LAAs (Letters of Advice to Apply) were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba sub-category. 60 LAAs were issued under the Skilled Workers Overseas category and 17 under the International Education category. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has issued 4,320 invitations to skilled workers in 2019. Manitoba, through the MPNP, nominates candidates for a provincial nomination. Employers in the province thus get access to foreign skilled workers to fill in the skill gaps. MPNP nominated candidates also should be able to settle quickly and economically establish themselves in the province. Since its inception in 1998, MPNP has welcomed more than 130,000 newcomers to Canada, as per CIC News. The MPNP is considered one of the most active and successful provincial nominee programs in Canada. In the 23^rd May draw, 27 LAAs were issued to candidates in the Express Entry pool with a job validation code. These candidates had work experience in any one occupation listed on the In-Demand Occupation list of Manitoba. Temporary overseas workers and international graduates in Manitoba can apply under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category. It is mandatory for these applicants to be currently working in a permanent, full-time job in Manitoba. Eligible candidates living outside Canada may apply under the Skilled Workers Overseas category. It is mandatory for these applicants to demonstrate a connection to Manitoba. The connection could be:

• A family member or friend living in Manitoba
• Previous work experience in Manitoba
• Previous education in Manitoba

Such candidates may receive an invitation under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP. 60 LAAs were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative in the 23^rd May draw. To apply under the MPNP, candidates must first complete an online Expression of Interest. Candidates are awarded a score on the basis of their education, work experience, language skills and connection to Manitoba. Highest-scoring candidates are invited through regular MPNP draws. The minimum score in the latest draw was:

• Skilled Worker Overseas: 506
• Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 548
