PEI PNP issued 195 invitations in the last scheduled draw conducted by the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island on December 17, 2020. The distribution of the invitations sent was as follows:
- Express Entry & Labor Impact candidates – 174
- Business Impact candidates – 21
Each of these candidates had to have a minimum point threshold of 85 points.
About PEI Express Entry category
The candidates under this category have their profile submitted with the Canadian government’s Express Entry system. The federal Express Entry system manages the applications of immigration candidates for 3 economic-class categories namely FSTP, FSWP, and CEC.
The ranking of the applicants’ profiles is done by CRS. With a provincial nomination that a candidate receives, he/she gets 600 extra CRS points that ensure that the candidate will get an ITA in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.
Express Entry candidates selected under PEI’s provincial nomination must create an EOI profile with the Prince Edward Island PNP.
The points given to rank candidates with EOI profiles are based on PEI’s unique points grid. Candidates who score the highest will be invited to apply via monthly draws.
About Labor Impact category
This category is meant for foreign nationals with a valid offer for a job in PEI with their employer’s support. The category is divided into:
- Critical Worker
- Skilled Worker
- International Graduate
Candidates who come under this category must submit an EOI profile to be selected for a provincial nomination via the Labor Impact category.
About the Business Impact category
The invitations send via this category were issued under the Work Permit Stream. This stream is meant for foreign entrepreneurs willing to own and operate a business in PEI.
