Sports form an essential component in the cultural fabric of Canada. Canadian sports are influenced by several factors that include the four seasons and the country's diverse geography.

Canada's sports system allows individuals from all sections of society to participate in sports activities. It is no surprise.

Many immigrants in Canada are sports coaches, and many individuals aspire to migrate to Canada as sports coaches.

Immigrants can be seen actively participating and contributing to the sports scenario in Canada. Immigrants account for about 20% of all sports coaches in Canada, according to the Canada 2016 census by Statistics Canada.

Key figures: Immigration Matters in Sports*

16,000+ immigrants working as program leaders and instructors in recreation, sport and fitness
2,800+ immigrants that are athletes, coaches, officials and referees
