If you are one of those who want to migrate from the UAE to Canada, know about the opportunities awaiting there. There is good news for those wishing to do so because the Canadian government has planned to welcome 832,000 migrants in the years 2022 to 2023. *Check your eligibility to Canada with the help of Y-Axis Canada Immigration Points Calculator. All people applying for a visa to move have equal opportunities to get a visa so long as they satisfy the Canadian authorities' eligibility requirements stipulate. Most visa applicants to Canada can apply for the country's permanent residency or PR visa: As a PR visa holder of Canada, you are entitled to apply for Canadian citizenship, are allowed to live, study, or work in any part of the North American country, are entitled to healthcare and other social benefits that Canadian citizens enjoy, and are protected under the country's law. Options from the UAE to move to Canada  There are various visa categories under which individuals in the UAE can apply to Canada through the Express Entry program, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Family class immigration, Quebec Skilled Workers Program, and Business immigration program. Express Entry program To be eligible for this program, you must get at least 67 points out of 100 as per the eligibility factors of Canada.
  • You should be aged between 18 and 35 years.
  • Those aged above 35 will score lesser points, and the maximum age for qualification is 45.
  • Your educational qualification must be considered equivalent to Canada's higher secondary education.
  • You should have a minimum work experience of one year, and your profession must be listed as 0 Skill Type or A or B Skill Level of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • You should score a minimum of 6 bands in your IELTS or equivalent in other tests that Canada recognizes. For certain areas, you should be considered proficient in French.
  • If your spouse/ partner also wants to migrate to Canada with you, you are eligible to get ten additional points for adaptability.
  • You can obtain up to 10 points if you have a valid job offer from a Canada-based employer.
A points-based system is in place for the Canada Express Entry Program to grade applicants for permanent residence (PR). Aspiring PR applicants get points based on educational qualifications, work experience, employment status in Canada, and nomination of a province/territory. Applicants earn points as per the country's Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The more the points, the higher are your chances of obtaining an invitation to apply (ITA) for PR. A minimum cutoff score is granted in Every Express Entry draw. An ITA will be awarded to all people who have applied with a minimum CRS score or more than it; when more nominees have a minimum score, an ITA will be granted to the one who has had a longer presence in the Express Entry pool. You need not require a Canadian job offer to apply to the Express Entry system. But a job offer from a Canadian employer will enhance from 50 to 200 your CRS points depending on your skill level. Those with a provincial nomination will see their CRS score increase by 600 points, guaranteeing them an ITA. All provinces of Canada also have Express Entry streams to aid them in selecting from the Express Entry pool talented workers. Please remember that the CRS score varies for every Express Entry draw that the Canadian government holds almost every two weeks. You can relocate on a work permit to Canada and apply for a permanent residency while you are working and residing there. A work permit is only granted to those having a job offer in Canada, and the work permit type is based on the job type you get. Provincial Nominee Program The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) intends to help various Canada's provinces/territories select migrant workers who don't mind settling in a particular province/territory of Canada and possess the skills to contribute to the economic development of that province/territory. Each PNP strives to meet the particular needs of the labor market of that province/territory. To be eligible for the PNP, an individual should have the required skills, work experience, educational qualifications, and the required proficiency in English or French. Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) Canada initiated QSWP to welcome more migrants from all over the world to Quebec directly. This program allows skilled migrants to apply for the QSWP or Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ). Under this program, applicants need not have a job offer in hand to enter Quebec. Just like the Express Entry System, the QSWP is also a points-based system. Canadian Experience Class The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program allows international workers or students staying temporarily in Canada to become the country's permanent residents. The immigration authorities of Canada consider their work experience or educational qualifications, or ability to contribute to Canadian society before they are granted PR status. Business migration Program If you are interested in conducting business in the world's second-largest country by area, you can apply for a PR visa via the Canada Business Immigration Program. Framed to welcome migrants, it allows all those who are willing to establish a business in Canada by investing. The government of Canada allows three categories of people to come under this visa. They must be investors, entrepreneurs, or self-employed persons. They could either be high net worth individuals (HNWIs) or those who have sufficient experience to set up and run a business in Canada. Family Class Immigration Canada's permanent residents or citizens can bring their family members to Canada and apply for their PR visas. The family members who can enter Canada under this visa are spouses/partners, dependent or adopted children, parents, and grandparents. Besides being aged above 18 and being permanent residents or citizens of Canada, the sponsors need to demonstrate proof that they have the financial resources to support their family members; they must support the family members with the Canadian government's approval for a certain duration and must be living in Canada or intend to live in Canada when their sponsored relative arrives. You, too, can qualify for this visa in case you have studied or worked in Canada for a certain duration and satisfy the eligibility criteria.
