Europeans could soon travel to the US, hints Donald Trump

United States could soon make it possible for Europeans from countries with low COVID-19 infections to visit the country. The US President Donald Trump hinted at this in a press conference lately. This gives a positive indication that Europeans could soon begin applying for US visitor visa.

He was presenting the 5th proclamation barring foreign nationals from entering the US. These foreign nationals were present in Brazil within 2 weeks before their attempted entry or entry in the US.

In the 3rd proclamation signed by Trump on March 11, 2020, he had suspended the entry of aliens into the US. These aliens were those present in the Schengen area within 14 days before their attempted entry or entry into the country.

That proclamation came into effect on March 13, 2020.

While the decision had been criticized by European diplomats as being void of any consolation, the border closure was extended to all non-EU nations on March 17, 2020.

In the past 2 weeks, even those European nations who imposed border restrictions with other European countries have been resorting to relaxing them. This has rekindled the interest in visitor visa among people there.

For instance, Greece decided to reopen its borders to EU and non-EU nations where COVID-19 infection has decreased from June 15, 2020. These include:

  • Finland
  • Czech Republic
  • Slovenia
  • Slovakia
  • Serbia
  • Norway
  • New Zealand
  • Romania
  • Montenegro
  • Malta
  • Lithuania
  • Lebanon
  • Latvia
  • Cyprus
  • Croatia
  • China
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Estonia
  • Switzerland
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • Bulgaria
  • Northern Macedonia
  • Austria
  • Australia
  • Albania

Also, from June 15, 2020, Norwegians can travel to Denmark for any purpose. From mid-June, Danes can tour to Norway.
