Canada Express Entry #223 held on May 25, 2022

The federal immigration draw was held, giving provincially nominated candidates the opportunity to apply for a Canada PR visa. These candidates had already got 600 extra CRS points when they received their provincial nomination via a Canada PNP draw.

Here are the details of the draw

Immigration program involved - Provincial Nominee Program

No. of invitations issued - 589

Minimum rank needed to be invited to apply - 589

Date and time of invitation round - May 25, 2022 at 13:21:23 UTC

Tie-breaking rule - February 02, 2022, at 12:29:53 UTC

The tie-break rule is applied when there’s more than 1 immigration candidate who scored the lowest CRS score. In this case, the cut-off decision is made on the basis of who submitted their Express Entry profiles earliest before the timestamp mentioned in the tie-break rule.

About Canada Express Entry

Canada Express Entry is a points-based application management system used by the federal government to manage applications for immigration. These applications are filed for 3 federal high-skilled immigration programs namely CEC, FSTP, and FSWP.

The applicants to Canada Express Entry have their profiles added to a candidate pool that's accessible to both federal and provincial governments. Every candidate profile is ranked by CRS with scores assigned. Factors like age, education, work experience, and skills in Canada’s official language are considered to decide the scores.

When provincial governments choose and nominate Express Entry candidates through PNP draws, they automatically add 600 extra points to their original CRS scores. This way, the candidates get a higher score that will increase their chances to get an ITA to the near surety in a forthcoming federal immigration draw.

For a provincial nomination, these candidates need to create an EOI profile with the PNP involved. The EOI profiles are given scores on the province’s unique points grid.

The highest-scoring Express Entry candidates are invited by IRCC to apply for a Canada PR visa when they take part in regular invitation rounds. Those who are invited can officially apply for Canada immigration.
