British Columbia invited 494 new immigration candidates in 2 separate PNP draws conducted on February 16, 2021.

459 invitations were issued to candidates from EEBC and SI streams of British Columbia PNP. The candidates who were invited included those from International Graduate, Skilled Worker, and Entry Level & Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the above-said streams.

The minimum score required of the candidates of this draw was between 85 and 104 points.

The remaining 35 invitations went to candidates who work as:

  • Restaurant & food service managers
  • Retail & wholesale trade managers

Both these occupations had many registrants within the BC PNP SIRS, the reason which BC conducted the draw. BC has also announced that it will be inviting candidates in the hospitality, retail, tourism, and personal services jobs that were excluded from draws conducted recently.

The total number of invitations sent so far by BC in 2021 has come to 1,308.

BC PNP aims at attracting foreign workers whose skills are in high demand in BC. Those among such workers who want to become Canada PR are welcomed by the province.

The scores assigned by SIRS to the registered profiles in BC PNP decides which candidates get invited. The highest-scoring candidates get called in first. After receiving an invitation, the candidate will have 30 days to file a complete application via the BC PNP online application system.

With a successful nomination from BC, the candidate will become eligible to file an application to IRCC for a Canada PR status. The validity of the nomination will be approximately 6 months from the confirmation date of the application.

The EEBC stream is aligned with the Express Entry system that manages immigration candidates’ applications in Express Entry programs of CEC, FSTP, and FSWP. With a nomination from BC, the profile will get 600 extra CRS points that will take them higher in the invite list in the next federal immigration draw.
