BC invited 100 immigration candidates to submit applications for a provincial nomination for PR in Canada. The PNP draw was held on October 20, 2020.

80 ITAs were sent to candidates via EEBC and Skills Immigration streams. They were invited under the International Graduate and Skilled Worker subcategories.

The minimum score required for chosen candidates was 80 across every category involved.

20 additional ITAs were sent to candidates under BC’s Entrepreneur Immigration program. 5 ITAs were sent under the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot. 15 ITAs were issued under the Entrepreneur Immigration Base category.

Candidates required a minimum score of 109 under the Regional Pilot and 122 under the Base Category.

BC PNP draws are held on a weekly basis. This year, the largest British Columbia PNP draw was held on September 29, 2020. 450 ITAs were issued in the draw.

BC conducts weekly Tech Pilot draws. Through Tech Pilot draw, candidates with job offers in 29 listed occupations are invited to apply for a provincial nomination. The Tech Pilot was started in 2017. Through Tech Pilot BC finds the right tech-skilled candidates who will meet the labor market requirements of the province.

To be eligible under the Tech Pilot, candidates must be registered in one of BC’s provincial immigration streams that are currently existing. The candidate should also have a valid job offer of at least a year in any of the Tech Pilot’s list of eligible occupations.

Candidates applying under Skills Immigration or Express Entry BCmust first create a profile online via BC PNP’sportal. They must also register under its SIRS.

Applicants under the BC PNP are evaluated on the basis of factors like education level, English language proficiency, work experience, and employment location. Upon approval, they can use their provincial nomination to apply for PR with IRCC under the PNP.

If the Express Entry candidate gets nominated by BC, he/she will get an additional 600 points to their CRS score. This will enable them to get a guaranteed ITA in a forthcoming Canada Express Entry draw.

The Entrepreneur immigration category is meant for entrepreneurs with experience. They are immigrating to start a business or take over a business already existing in BC.

Regional Pilot candidates are entrepreneurs who participate in business in regions of the province. Thus, they promote the economic development of the province.
