Here’s news that you can use if you are a skilled worker desiring to migrate to Australia. The Australia Skilled Migration Program for the financial year 2022-23 is open for onshore and offshore applications.

Since the time Australia fully opened for migration, 2.5 years have passed and offshore applicants have had many opportunities to move to the country. Certain Australian states sponsored Australia immigration candidates if they adhered to certain conditions. These included being in occupations listed in the critical skills list and staying onshore.

Australian states that have opened for offshore applicants

Victoria

The state is now open for visas to Subclass 190 and Subclass 491. All occupations on the relevant DHA (Dept. of Home Affairs) list of occupations have eligibility to be considered for immigration approval. Applicants have no need to possess STEM skills or be employed in the target sector, which is the overturned version of the criteria applicable till now.

If you are an applicant for occupation in an industrial sector like Engineering, IT, Accounts, and trades, you have a great opportunity to apply for Australia immigration.

The criteria for the applicants go as given below:

  • Age must be under 45 years.
  • Applicants should have an occupation on the occupation list approved by the DHA.
  • Applicants must be committed to living in Victoria.
  • Applicants must have a minimum English score at the “competent” level.
  • Applicants must have 65 points.

Victoria is accepting nominations also from offshore applicants this time.

Queensland

Unlike the practice till now, the state is accepting offshore applications too. An applicant to be eligible requires a minimum of 80 points for Subclass 190. For Subclass 491 the minimum points for eligibility are 65 points.

Applicants must be in an occupation that’s present on the Queensland occupation list. They must have language skill scores of the ‘proficient’ level and a post-study work experience of at least 3 years.
