China Visit Visa from Dubai

China tourist visa is required for visitors to China. The visa has a 90-day validity period. This visa allows a person to stay in the country for a total of 30 days.

China Visit Visa Types 

China issues different categories of visit visas depending on the purpose of travel. Below are the main visa types relevant to applicants in the UAE:

L Visa (Tourist Visa)

  • Purpose: Tourism, leisure travel, sightseeing, or visiting friends.
  • Entries/Stay: Usually issued as single or double entry; length of stay granted by the consulate.

M Visa (Business Visa)

  • Key Requirements: Invitation letter from a Chinese company, including full details of inviter, purpose, and duration of visit.

Q2 Visa (Family Visit – Chinese Citizens/PR Holders)

  • Purpose: Short-term family visits to relatives who are Chinese citizens or permanent residents.
  • Entries/Stay: Typically allows stays of up to 180 days, as granted on the visa.
  • Key Requirements: Invitation letter, proof of family relationship (birth/marriage certificate), and copy of inviter’s Chinese ID or residence permit.

S2 Visa (Family Visit – Foreign Nationals in China)

  • Purpose: Short-term family visits to foreign nationals residing in China for work or study.
  • Entries/Stay: Usually up to 180 days, based on consular officer decision.
  • Key Requirements: Invitation letter from the foreign family member in China, proof of relationship, and copy of their passport and residence permit.

Eligibility Criteria for China Visit Visa 

To apply for a China Visit Visa from the UAE, applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions:

  • Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of entry, with at least two blank visa pages.
  • Residency Status in UAE: Non-UAE nationals must hold a valid UAE residence visa or Emirates ID to apply from within the UAE.
  • Completed Online Visa Application: Applicants must fill in and submit the online visa form, then print and sign the confirmation and application form.
  • Travel Purpose Alignment: The application must match the correct visa category:
  • L Visa – Tourism, leisure, or visiting friends.
  • M Visa – Business visits such as trade fairs or meetings.
  • Q2 / S2 Visa – Short-term family visits.
  • Invitation or Supporting Documents: Must provide relevant proof, such as return tickets, hotel bookings, or an invitation letter from a host, company, or family member in China.
  • Financial Capability: Applicants should demonstrate sufficient funds to cover the trip and stay in China.
  • No Immigration Violations: Applicants should have no history of overstays or violations of Chinese immigration laws.
  • Biometric Requirements: Fingerprint collection is generally required for most applicants, except where exemptions apply (e.g., temporary waiver for short-term visas in UAE until end of 2025).

  • A valid passport with six months validity
  • Copies of old passports and visas
  • Two color passport size photos
  • A copy of your completed and signed online visa application form
  • Details about your itinerary
  • A cover letter from the ‘primary applicant’ or the company which describes the reason for the travel and duration of stay
  • Proof of hotel bookings, flight bookings
  • Proof that you have enough funds to sponsor your stay
  • Bank statement of last three months
  • Salary slip for last 6 months
  • Income tax returns for last 3 years
  • Travel Insurance

How to Apply for a China Visit Visa? 

Step 1 — Complete the online application
Fill out the form on China’s official visa system, print, and sign.

Step 2 — Prepare and book submission
Gather all required documents and book an appointment with CVASC. Digital pre-submission is available in Dubai.

Step 3 — Submit at CVASC
Visit the Visa Application Service Center in Dubai or Abu Dhabi with your application and documents.

Step 4 — Biometrics (if required)
Most applicants must provide fingerprints, though temporary exemptions apply for some short-term visas until the end of 2025.

Step 5 — Pay fees & collect passport
Pay the visa and service fees at submission. Processing usually takes 4 working days or longer. Express/urgent options may be available.

Processing Time for China Visit Visa

The standard processing time for a China Visit Visa is 3 to 5 working days once the application and documents are submitted. Applicants who require faster service may request urgent or express processing, which is subject to approval and will incur additional charges.

It is important to ensure that all information provided is accurate and complete. Submitting fraudulent documents or incomplete applications may result in visa refusal or delays in processing.
