  • You must meet the health and character requirements.

  Now, let’s look at the visa options under each PR pathway. Family-stream permanent visas   Permanent visas in this category are meant for

  • parents, partners, dependent relatives, or children of an Australia PR visa holder, an Australian citizen, or an eligible citizen of New Zealand
  • adopted children or children undergoing the process of adoption outside of Australia
  • carers who must move to Australia for the purpose of giving long-term care for a relative approved by the Australian authorities

Visa options

Subclass 114 – Aged Dependent Relative Visa

With this permanent visa, a single older person, with reliance on a relative who is a resident in Australia for financial support, can move to Australia permanently.

Subclass 117 – Orphan Relative Visa

This is a permanent visa in Australia that enables a child who’s single to arrive in Australia to live with a relative in case their parents can’t care for them, are deceased, or can’t be found.

Subclass 116 – Carer visa

With this visa, you can immigrate to Australia to care for an individual with a long-term medical condition. It’s necessary that the ailing individual has no reasonable access to care options in Australia.

Subclass 103 – Parent visa

This visa permits the parent of a permanent resident/citizen of Australia to immigrate to Australia.

Subclass 101 – Child visa

This visa allows a child outside Australia to become a permanent resident in Australia. Work-stream permanent visas Permanent visas in this category are meant for workers who have either of the following:

  • an employer in Australia granting them sponsorship to work in Australia
  • skills that are in-demand and considered valuable in Australia

Subclass 187 - Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa

With this visa skilled workers nominated by their Australian employer in regional areas of the country, can live and work in Australia permanently.

Subclass 186 - Employer Nomination Scheme visa

This visa is for skilled workers nominated by their Australian employer, to live and work in Australia permanently.

Subclass 190 - Skilled Nominated visa

With this visa, nominated skilled workers can live and work in Australia with permanent resident status.

Subclass 887 - Skilled regional visa

This visa is meant for those who have lived and worked in specified areas of regional Australia on an eligible visa previously.

Subclass 124 - Distinguished Talent visa

It’s for those who have a record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in an eligible field that’s internationally recognized. Business/Investor-stream permanent visas Permanent visas in this category are meant for those who are interested to invest or running a business in Australia after immigration.

Subclass 888 - Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa

This visa is for investors, business owners, and entrepreneurs to continue their business activities in Australia.

Subclass 890 - Business owner visa

It’s meant for people who own and manage a business in Australia. It lets you stay in Australia indefinitely. If you want to apply for this visa as a primary applicant, you must already be possessing a qualifying visa granted on a particular basis. Holders of provisional visas namely Subclass 165, 164, 163, 162, 161, or 160 visas who have lived for a minimum of 12 months in the last 2 years are eligible to apply for Subclass 890 visa.
