Data reveals Europe’s Best Golden visa programs

According to recent findings by the law firm Arton Capital, Hungary, Greece, and Italy are the top three EU countries with the best golden visa programs. Most foreigners choose these countries as their first choices regarding Residency by Investment Schemes.

 

Golden visas allow foreigners to get permanent residency, provided they invest in the country. They are also required to fulfill other criteria to qualify for the visa. The three countries mentioned above are also known to have the top golden visa programs in the world.

Top 3 EU Golden Visa Programs

Hungary, Greece, and Italy are ranked among the top 3 countries for Golden visas.

 

Hungary Golden Visa Program

The country launched its Golden Visa in 2013 and terminated it in 2017. The program was re-launched this year in July and is now known as the Guest Investor Program (GIP). Hungary is one of the top choices among wealthy foreigners as it offers an option for real estate investment that other countries have discontinued. The country earned a whopping €1.4 billion from 2013 to 2017 through the Golden Visa program.

 

Greece Golden visa Program

The Greece Golden visa is the next top choice for foreign investors. The program recently received changes to tackle the housing crisis. The changes included increasing the minimum investment amount, which was implemented on September 1, 2024. The minimum investment amount is now €800,000 in Thessaloniki, Mykonos, and Santorini.

 

The Prime Minister also announced that golden visas will be issued to entrepreneurs, giving foreigners a five-year residency permit through startup investment worth €250,000.

Italy’s Golden Visa Program
