Enhanced Caregiver Pilot Programs

The IRCC launched two new Enhances Caregiver programs on June 2, 2024. These new programs replace the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot. Through the program, home care workers can be employed by organizations that provide part-time care for individuals who are recovering from an illness or are semi-independent.

Home care workers & home childcare providers

·         Minimum of Level 4 in CLB

·         Educational qualifications that are equal to a Canadian high school diploma

·         Relevant and prior work experience

·         A full-time home care job offer in Canada

Rural Community Immigration Pilot

IRCC introduced the Rural Community Immigration Pilot program after the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) performed well.         

Newcomers who can help fill the labour shortages and those willing to reside in small rural communities in Canada.

Francophone Community Immigration Pilot

The new pilot program will be launched under Canada’s Policy on Francophone Immigration, prioritizing the growth of Francophone minority communities. The program will facilitate more French speakers to settle in the minority groups outside Quebec. IRCC and the communities enrolled in the pilot program will select eligible candidates.

Manitoba’s West Central Immigration Initiative pilot

Manitoba released the new 3-year program on November 15, 2024, to deal with the workforce shortage in the west-central region of the province. Manitoba will work with Gambler First Nation and seven rural municipalities to fulfill the labor market needs.

Skilled workers looking to reside in the rural West-Central regions of Manitoba

Eligibility requirements have yet to be announced; however, the province currently requires 240-300 individuals in the next 3 years.
