List of Top 10 countries with their salary requirements

The list of the top 10 countries, along with their minimum salary requirements, is given below:

United States

The USA has two major work visas, H-1B and O-1 visa. While the H-1B visa has its own set of income criteria, the O-1 visa has no specific requirements.

H-1B Visa: The income requirements for the H-1B visa differ based on the type of occupation and the location. The general criteria is for foreign workers to have a salary higher than the wage paid to similar employees in the same occupation or the current wage offered in that particular occupation.

O-1 Visa: There is no particular salary requirement for the O-1 visa, provided the applicants must have extraordinary skills in their field.

United Kingdom

The UK Skilled Worker Visa and Global Talent Visa are two primary UK work visas. While the skilled worker visa requires a minimum income, the Global talent visa does not have specific requirements.

UK Skilled worker visa: The salary threshold for foreign workers looking to apply for the UK Skilled worker visa is £25,600 per annum or the “going rate.” However, some of the shortage occupations and roles are given exceptions where the salary requirement can be relatively lower.

UK Global Talent Visa: There is no particular salary requirement for the UK Global Talent Visa, provided the applicants are promoted as leaders or probable leaders in that field.

Canada

Canada offers many types of work visas for individuals depending on their requirement. However, the Express Entry and Temporary Foreign Worker programs are two of the most preferred work visas.

Express Entry: The Express Entry program maintains a points-based system, where points are allotted based on several factors including wages and employment offers.

Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP): The salary must either align with the current salary offered for that occupation or be higher than the median wage.

Australia

The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa and the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa are two of the most common Australian work visas.

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa: Candidates applying for the visa must earn AUD 53,900 per annum in a job listed on the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa: The requirement is for the candidates to meet the market salary rate, with an income that is not less than the salary of an average Australian working in the same occupation.

Germany

There is no specific salary requirement, provided the job must meet the overall wage agreements or the minimum wage polices in Germany.

EU Blue Card: Candidates must earn a minimum salary of €56,800 per annum, while those with jobs in the shortage occupations have a threshold of less than €44,304 per year.

Singapore

The two main types of Singapore work visas are the Singapore Employment Pass and the S Pass.  

Employment Pass: The minimum salary required is SGD 5,000 for relatively new applications and higher than that for older applications. For individuals with jobs in the financial services, the minimum wage requirement is SGD 5,500 per month.

S Pass: The minimum income requirement for the S Pass is SGD 3,000 per month, while the requirement remains higher for candidates with more experience.

Japan

There is no specific salary threshold for candidates applying for a work visa. However, the salary must be equivalent to or higher than that of a Japanese worker in the same field.

 

Highly Skilled Professional Visa: There is no salary threshold for this type of visa; however, points are allotted to candidates based on their annual salaries, among other factors. Candidates with high salaries are given more points.

UAE

UAE’s employment visa does not have a national threshold. The only requirement is that the salary meets the standards set by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The income earned by the candidate must also be sufficient to support themselves and their families.
